Event: Poetry at the Mad Squirrel

Location: Mad Squirrel Tap, Heritage Close, 17 High St, St Albans AL3 4EB

Description:

Join John Mole and Ver Poets for a poetry reading and open mic at The Mad Squirrel, St Albans. 

Ver Poets members Beliz McKenzie, John Mole, Ruth Higgins and David Van-Cauter will read some of their poems. 

The second half will consist of an open mic where you can read a poem – your own – or a favourite poem, on any subject.

Free entry.

Event: Poetry, music and open mic

Location: St Albans Central Library, The Maltings, AL1 3JQ

Description:

Join us at St Albans Library on 19th April, at which the poet, Chris Tutton, will perform with the harpist, Anne Denholm. The second half will feature a discussion with them about their work in the community. 

Described as ‘poet, novelist, raconteur, maverick, wit’, Chris has worked with libraries (including Hertfordshire) and the BBC. A winner of The Sunday Times Interaction Community Theatre Award, he has performed on television and radio and is a regular guest at many major literary festivals.

This will be followed by an open mic where you can read a poem – your own – or a favourite poem, on any subject.

Description:

Martyn Crucefix will be our guest reader this evening. Martyn is a well-known poet, a Royal Literary Fund Fellow and an old friend of Ver Poets. He has recently published a new collection of his own poems, Between a Drowning Man, and a selection of his translations from Rilke, Change Your Life: Essential Poems.

This will be followed by an open mic where you can read a poem.
